Timeline
- Now through 11 September: Nominate a volunteer online or at any of Specsaver’s 34 locations.
- 5 October: Three awardees in each of the 10 categories will be notified.
- 5 November: All short listed awardees will be honoured at a dinner hosted by the Taoiseach’s Office in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin. The awards for category winners and Irish Volunteer of the Year will be presented by the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
- 4 – 6 December: The Irish Volunteer of the Year will represent Ireland at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
