Campaign Timeline
The Ireland Involved Awards is a campaign to recognise the ordinary people across Ireland who give of their time and energy to serve their communities.
The campaign starts with the nomination period, when every body is encouraged to nominate someone they know to be an outstanding volunteer. After this period has ended, nominations are collated, all nominees are contacted and shortlisting begins. During this time we aim to highlight the wonderful stories of volunteers around the country. The campaign culminates in an awards event and gala dinner in Dublin in November, to which a number of volunteers are invited together with some special guests.
Every person nominated during the Ireland Involved Awards campaign is recognised for their contribution, there are no winners in the Ireland Involved Awards, every single person is special and deserves a Big Thank You for everything they do.
The key dates of the campaign are as follows:
- 23rd August – 1 October 2010: Nominate a volunteer online or pick up a nomination form in any major supermarket
- 11 October: Three awardees in each of the 10 categories will be shortlisted and notified
- 10 November: All short listed awardees will be honoured at a dinner hosted by Volunteering Ireland in The Mansion House, Dublin
- 3– 5 December: The Irish Volunteer of the Year will represent Ireland at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
