Ireland Involved

Ireland Involved is an exciting new initiative providing web-based tools to improve and expand volunteering in Ireland. In its first phase, Ireland Involved provides the public with access to volunteering opportunities and voluntary organisations with a facility to promote their volunteering opportunities and other events. By providing voluntary organisations with easy-to-use, free, online technology, Ireland Involved will develop to help organisations to make it easier to volunteer, reduce internal administration and spend more time and resources managing volunteers and providing those vital services that are the purpose of every voluntary organisation. Ireland Involved has been built to assist those who volunteer and those who manage volunteers to interact more easily and efficiently.

Ireland Involved aims to help four core groups involved in volunteering:

• Community & voluntary organisations – Ireland Involved provides a suite of online tools that will enable them to recruit volunteers; manage volunteers and their projects; promote the organisation's activities; engage in ongoing volunteer management training and collaborative learning; connect with corporate supporters and raise funds.
• Volunteers – Ireland Involved provides a website where individuals can view and search volunteering opportunities available in their locality or field of interest; view and search voluntary organisations around the country; and enable the public to support organisations with their time or their money.
• Companies – as part of the Ireland Involved project a specific service will be developed to assist corporations to connect with and manage their engagement with the C&V sector more effectively. The suite of tools will assist CSR and corporate citizenship managers to find appropriate volunteering opportunities, track hours volunteered by employees and report on volunteering projects undertaken.
• Volunteer Centres – Ireland Involved and local Volunteer Centres will work together to ensure the best possible service to volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, easy access to a well-populated searchable database of volunteering opportunities and expand and enhance the quality of information they gather to influence policy.
